Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated, reliable, and career-driven individual to join our engineering team. In this position, you will troubleshoot and integrate smart vehicle electronics, leveraging basic AI and CAN skills while collaborating across teams to develop next-generation automotive solutions. You’ll assist the engineering team with engineering change order processes, technical writing, electrical, electronic, and software product testing, electrical product prototyping, test fixtures, championing ISO-9001 processes, assisting with manufacturing and quality concerns.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and integrate automotive electrical systems for mirrors, cameras, displays and general video systems: wiring, harnesses, switches, sensors, control modules, LEDs, actuators.
  • Electrical, electronic, and software product testing, troubleshooting, and debugging. Testing of general product features including electrical performance, video performance, software and AI features.
  • Electrical prototype wiring, harness, and test fixture builds. Mechanical housing/fixture builds for electronic testing purposes.
  • Conduct field and bench diagnostics and validation, developing technical reports and troubleshooting guides. Technical writing, development of manuals, quickstart guides, and installation instructions.
  • Communication with overseas partners and suppliers. Working with overseas teams on innovative and unconventional problem-solving techniques to vehicle electrical/electronic challenges.
  • Coordinating engineering change orders, documentation, cut-in to production.
  • Support creation, review, and updating of engineering drawings, bills of material, installation manuals, user manuals, and other technical documentation.
  • Collaboration with sales, manufacturing and quality teams to address real-time issues. Troubleshoot customer technical issues and provide technical support to system installers by phone, email, and in person.
  • Some travel required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Engineering Technology or similar technical degree preferred.
  • Experience with CAN tools (CANalyzer, CANoe) and bus protocol experience (CAN/LIN) preferred.
  • Experience with electrical prototyping, mechatronics, soldering, electronic product testing.
  • Experience with CAD software – such as Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD electrical, Autodesk Vault
  • Familiarity and experience with engineering lab equipment: Digital Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies, Frequency Generators, etc
  • Deep understanding of electrical circuits and electrical system troubleshooting.
  • Excellent English writing and communication skills.
  • Direct experience in the automotive, manufacturing or related industries preferred.
  • 2-5 years industry experience. 

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds at a time. ? Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the facility. 
  • Must be able to quickly traverse manufacturing areas. 
  • Must be able to stand, bend, crawl, stretch, lay, and squat to maintain equipment. 
  • Must be able to occasionally withstand high temperatures if applicable.
