MOR-Vision Backup Camera System Showcased at 2013 National Association of Pupil Transportation Conference & Expo in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Queens, NY - October 21, 2013 –Rosco, Inc. will be showcasing the MOR-Vision Backup Camera System at the 2013 NAPT Summit in Grand Rapids, MI October 22nd and 23rd. Since its launch in January, the popularity of the MOR-Vision Backup Camera System has been growing with fleet managers in numerous markets, as a new record was set in September for units shipped. The MOR-Vision Backup Camera System is a more advanced driver aid for large vehicles that includes a camera mounted on the back of the vehicle, sending images to a monitor installed within the interior rearview mirror.

“The MOR-Vision Backup Camera System is perfect for large school buses backing into tight spots or moving in reverse when visibility is limited. It also has the capacity for additional interior and side cameras – it’s like giving the driver extra eyes,” said Peter Plate, Rosco’s Director of Sales & Marketing.

With safety a priority in student transportation, backing up large, yellow school buses creates a risky and dangerous situation. The combination of limited visibility and the need to maneuver around students, pedestrians, and other vehicles has the potential for disaster. Knowing how to use technology to limit safety risks during backup procedures is important when considering school bus safety issues.

The large MOR-Vision rearview mirror/monitor comes in three different sizes: 6” X 16”, 6” X 30”, and 10” x 30”. The installation is the same as any other large bus interior rearview mirror. The backup cameras are also installed like any other system, and the camera harness is simply connected to the monitor. In the MOR-Vision STSK6630 rearview camera system, a 7-inch LCD monitor is automatically displayed on the interior rearview mirror when the vehicle shifts into reverse, allowing the driver to see behind the bus. Once the driver shifts into other modes of bus operation, a normal mirror view reappears. Large buses equipped with the MOR-Vision™ backup camera systems have options for multiple cameras, including side cameras and interior cameras. An automatic monitor view changes based on the operational conditions of the bus or the preference of the driver.

In addition to the MOR-Vision backup camera system, Rosco will also be displaying the Dual-Vision™ XC automotive event recorder with a new third camera option and a full line of rearview and cross-view mirrors. Rosco is a leader in the rearview camera and mirror industry and offers a wide selection of products designed to improve the safety of drivers, passengers, and pedestrians.
